Hey, glad you found my site! I'm Emre.
Currently, I'm studying interaction design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
My passion for design began early. My first inspirations were the late fashion designer, DJ and architect Virgil Abloh, the music producer, rapper and fashion designer Kanye West and the illustrator and graphic designer Takashi Murakami.
Seeing artworks for album covers made me wonder about how design could change lives. In history class, we started talking about the Bauhaus concept and I got in touch with it.
One of my greatest influences, Virgil Abloh wrote about it in his book "Figures of Speech" and eversince then, I started to question myself how simple but aesthetic design could change the world.
"FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION"
Being confronted by this concept, I decided to apply to the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
And there I am!
Apart from design, I have two other passions.
I love music more than anything.
Starting with piano and guitar lessons at the age of 7, i was destined to produce my own music, which resulted in eventually becoming a big time hobby of mine.
I got into digital music production by accident but instantly fell in love with it. Being able to create anything from chilled oldschool hip hop, exciting and hard trap drums or even indie music: I'm very open to new stuff.
I love how i can reach out to people making relatable music. Also, I use it as a tool where I can express my feelings.
My second passion apart from design is basketball. I started playing basketball when i was 10 years old and i still do.
As soon as possible i learned about the NBA and I couldn't stop myself from being awake at 3AM watching the Finals, still until this day.
Also, I am fascinated by the culture behind basketball, which is the gap between my two passions: Hip-Hop.
